Who We Are
Holloway Habitats is an ecologically friendly, low impact garden design, build, and maintenance company that uses best practice, organic processes. From planting to hardscaping, all of our projects incorporate soil building to support healthy ecosystems and all rock work and stone patio builds use low impact development practices and source local products.
Specialising in plant design, most of our building projects include monoculture removal, working toward plant diversity and habitat restoration, using our signature style that is committed to the beauty of a wild natural plant design.
Our plant knowledge and horticultural experience is extensive and the key to our plant success. We are Washington Native Plant Society members and focus on tested perennial species. Specialising in Northwest native plants, our ongoing studies of permaculture and herbal medicine give us a wide range and evolving plant knowledge. We use this knowledge to create planting designs that are both bespoke and useable, year round, as we believe that our interactions with our gardens are deeply meaningful.
“Outdoor spaces are important to our health and are integral to the survival of wildlife and the rewilding of our lifestyles. Garden spaces that allow plants, insects, and animals to cohabit in
the urban world significantly contribute
to our overall health.”
— Sarah Wallace, Founder of Holloway Habitats
What We Do
“The soil is the great connector of lives, the
source and destination of all. It is the healer and restorer and resurrector, by which disease
passes into health, age into youth, death into life. Without proper care for it we can have no community, because without proper care we can have no life.”
— Wendell Berry, The Unsettling of America, Culture, and Agriculture
